Tiny Islands - Where it all began!

Tiny Islands all began at Return to Rio festival in November 2014. A chance encounter between an Irishman and a Kiwi girl sparked a creative minefield in and around the party and festival scene in Sydney. The resulting hypothesis was that the scene was flat, lifeless and devoid of any real experience. It wasn't like there weren't good events or venues, but there were very few real experiences that got the blood pumping.

In the weeks following the festival and in an attempt to woo the Kiwi girl in question a date was scheduled at Rose Bay. A post paddle board beer was had on the deck of Club Rose Bay. The sun was shining, the beer was flowing but there were no customers. It was such a great venue and it needed to be discovered. On a whim the venue was booked and the date was set. The venue is primarily used for weddings and christenings but had all the elements required to make for a boutique festival venue.  It was a risky move as the date coincided with Future Music Festival, Soundwave and Secret Garden Party. However off the back of the success of a recent pool party that the Irish element had Djed at we decided it was worth the risk. The rest we could say is history.

The era of the big one day festival is over ( for now ). Lines for over priced beer and dirty toilets only appeal to double dropping teens trying to avoid the wrath of the sniffer dogs. We believe today's party goer wants more and the key elements are a great venue and some quality home grown musical talent. The next key element is price.  Sydney is one of the most expensive cities in the world and the mark up and margin in venues and at events is unjustified and unacceptable. We aim to keep our entry at a reasonable price with some inexpensive drinks options. We run the numbers so that we can help everyone involved have a great night without breaking the bank.  Then it's all about the finishing touches. Whether that be by adding more bar staff to the venue, decorating, face painting, a good theme or easy access, we aim to find the right mix of key elements to make you have a great night, and more importantly, a memorable experience.

We really want to meet and party with like minded people, people who can add to the experience with good attitudes, desire to have fun and escape into our world for a few hours. We want to work with local artists and musicians to help showcase their talents and connect them with a great audience. We also want to work with like minded brands. Brands play an important part in our lives and we want to connect brands with customers provided they can add to the experience; it could be a sponsored cocktail or a branded lounge as long as it make you feel like you are having a better experience then HELL we are OK with that!

We would also love to hear from you, the party goer. We'd love to hear about great venues, great acts, brands and suggestions. At the end of the day we are doing this for you so your views are the most important to us. If you would like to drop us a line you can contact Ronan ( I'm the Irish one ) @ contact@tinyislandsevents.com

Looking forward to seeing you at Tiny Islands' next event!
